The initial Python BSD-like license comes from Python's origin at
CWI. (/usr/doc/python/copyright)

I had a look at Grail a while ago and decided CNRI's license (which
seems fairly standard for them) was just too much trouble. Maybe
someone should raise this on comp.lang.python.
