Re: Moving to FHS: A new proposal
Hi,
Well, this is better than the idea of moving dirs around in
postinst, but I like the idea of modifying the code that looks in
there to look in both places instead. The most popular of the two
software packages are man and info; and they both support multuple
places to look for pages in.
That leaves /usr/doc; and each package can leave a symlink
behind for humans, and cerate new directories in /usr/share/doc
instead.
I would like to have my Debian rules files install in
/usr/share as soon as it is the feasible, and not perpetuate /usr/man
when the whole world slowly moves to /usr/share.
