Status of SPI?

What's the current status of SPI?

I ask because the gnome people are currently having a discussion about the
status of the copywrite on their new logo (http://www.labs.redhat.com).  I
realize that there have been issues about whether Gnome's a 
redhat-controlled venture or not,  but they don't seem excited to let
RedHat have the copywrite,  so I figured that maybe SPI could help ...
