Intent to move mysql-base and mysql-dev to main

As a result of the recent discussion about linking free code to
non-free libraries, I've decided to split off the free portions of the
mysql source code to produce mysql-base (client and shared libraries)
and mysql-dev (development libraries) packages for main in slink. This
source code is either 'Public Domain' or GPL'd.

The non-free 'Mysql Free Public License' (similar to the Aladdin
Ghostscript license, allowing all use but prohibiting sale) applies
only to the mysql server source, and the mysql-server package will
remain in non-free.

Moving the base and dev packages to main means that packages that link
to libmysqlclient (and thus depend on the mysql-base package) will be
able to go into main as well (instead of contrib).

My only question is how best to package the source. Should I package
the pristine source tarball, and put a script to rm the non-free
source files in debian/rules, or should I package my own source
tarball with the non-free files already removed?

Thanks to Kevin Atkinson for initiating the discussion and to the
upstream developers (namely Michael Widenius <monty@analytikerna.se>)
for clearing up the license for the client source files.
