I'm trying to install Debian from floppies
but the system hangs on the line

'hde: probing with STATUS instead of ALTSTATUS'

I can't find any documentation on either
STATUS or ALTSTATUS.

I'm trying to install in on a DECpc 320p
notebook. This system has a 386sx-20
with 8mb of memory and an 84mb conner hard drive.

Any suggestions?
