Splay/xsplay switching from QT to GTK

I have been in communication with the author of these programs, and he
has agreed to do the next release of xsplay with GTK, bringing the
entire package properly into the GPL.
That having been said, and there being therefore no further impediment
to placing splay/xsplay in main once this actually happens, is there
still interest in trying to split the package? Keeping xsplay in the
splay package adds currently only about 190k to the people who want
splay but not the X interface. I am inclined therefore to leave the
package as a whole and not add yet another package our already
intimidatingly large list, but if more arguments are presented for the
split than against I can probably be persuaded to make a multi-binary
out of it.
