Intent to package: GtkGL and apps

I intend to package the GtkGL library in slink. As its name suggests, it 
allows to use OpenGL with Gtk. I plan to package some nice applications with 
it, such as xtraceroute.

[Should I ask the following question on debian-mentors instead?]

For a shared library, the build replaces ${shlibs:Depends} by just libc6 
(probably because that is what ldd says) even if the library really depends on 
libgtk and libGL. Should I replace ${shlibs:Depends} by the real values or 
trust the Debian tools?
