It's even better than that. Currently (my understanding is) any freely
redistributable software, even if it originated in the US, does not need an
export permit and can be exported freely.

In theory you shouldn't be able to find US software without having to agree
not to export it though. And if you imported it from the US with the intention
of exporting it from Canada then you have simply exorted it from the US and
they could send the marines after you.

I don't think any of our non-us sites have illegally exported US software
though. So canadian mirrors should be legally able to put any of our non-us
stuff up for ftp.

There have been noises from Manley about changing this, please visit those efc
pages and send mail to your M.P. if you're Canadian and care about this issue.
