My box contains a sound-card but I didn't use it (more precisely I
know that it worked with 2.0.32 kernel but I'm to lasy to step through
all the pitfalls for every new kernel ... I just don't need sound).
I think many others havn't any sound card ore don't use them like me.
So if E would be "the" windowmanager for Gnome in my humble opinion
you should support a no sound version.
By the way: today I'm using fvwm2 and I'm very happy with it. Are
there any investigations to make it Gnome compliant. I consider using
Gnome if it is in a stable state.
