dpkg on AIX?
I've just got an AIX box at work and I'd like to install all the useful
programs using dpkg - I hate tarballs since removing the packages is so
difficult.
Does anyone have any experience with this before I go and have a bash. The
INSTALL script for dpkg seemed to be... lacking somewhat. (Read the install
and then have a look at debian/rules :-P)
PS: I don't suppose anyone knows how to boot a PowerSeries 850 (PC-style)
box into single-user mode. I had to grab a CD-ROM off a spare machine in the
end (networking was down and NIS couldn't connect so the boot never finished).
PPS: Dselect beats AIX's package manager hands down!
Cheers
Adrian
