I'm guessing that he dropped it at the same time as it was removed from the
apache core.  But maybe not.

Umm... because 1.3 is about a million times better than 1.2?

Seriously, the performance enhancements are huge, as well as some
significant reworking of log handling getting rid of some IMHO serious bugs.

Also, 1.3b6 is the final release candidate for 1.3, IIRC.
