Re: Bug#20019: Booting from any Kernel hangs (fwd)

Does one of our kernel gurus know what's going on here?

OK, Enrique and thank you - I tried out this (both the kernel booting from DOS and the
whole resc1440.bin, written to diskette and booting from).
Here the result (kernel says it is 2.0.32, file-date is 20-Feb-98, 20:21):

- ---------------snip--------
md driver 0.35 MAX_MD_DEV=4, MAX_REAL=8
aic7xxx: <Adaptec AHA-284X SCSI host adapter at VLB 1
aic7xxx: BIOS enabled, IO Port 0x1c00, IRQ11 (edge triggered), Revision >=E
aic7xxx: Single Channel, SCSI ID 7, 4/4 SCBs, QFull 4, QMask 0x7
qlogicisp: PCI bios not present
eata_dma: No BIOS32 extensions present. This.....
o Skipping scan for PCI HBAs.
scsi0: Encountered spurious interrupt.

- ---------------------- BIG SILENCE --------------------

after rebooting the CMOS is found corrupt (only if booting from DOS, not from diskette).

You should know that I'm runnig OS/2 (Warp3 & 4) since more than 3 years on this
machine without any problems, so I think the hardware is ok.

The best greetings from Germany
