Upgraded bo->hamm
I upgraded today a bo (1.3.1.r6) system to hamm using the script from the
developers corner. Remarks:
1.) I used the ftp method (although it is not mentioned in the menu!)
2.) libc5 paket is not downloaded automatically (had to be done by hand)
3.) During installation, the script complained that /usr/lib/libc5.so does not
exist (link to /lib/libc.so.5.4.33). I simply deleted this link and run
ldsoconfig -v
4.) I think the libc6 migration worked.
5.) I have still problems with upgrading with dselect:
ACCESS MEHTOD: ftp
....
If you are using anonymous ftp to retrieve files, enter your email
address for use as a password. Otherwise enter your password,
or "?" if you want dpkg-ftp to prompt you each time.
Enter password [root@ralf.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de]:
Enter debian directory [/debian/hamm]:
Go through an authenticated FTP proxy [n]:
Note: order here is important. Package files are scanned in order so
later distributions will override earlier ones.
So put stable before unstable.
Enter space seperated list of distributions to get
[main]: main
Is that ok?
Then I did update. dselect had a few conflicts, but it finally worked. Install
brought big trouble:
I got lots of
getting: dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/base/mawk_1.3.3-1.1.deb (73018)
dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/base/mawk_1.3.3-1.1.deb: No such file OR
directory.
getting: dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/devel/bison_1.25-11.deb (124628)
dists/unstable/main/binary-i386/devel/bison_1.25-11.deb: No such file OR
directory.
Can anybody think of what I did wrong?
