Debian2.0-->LIBC6+GCC2.8+Kernel2.1.89+Netscape<---Infomagik

1. Can't Netscape's binary be bundled for free now?

2. If the 2.0 Debian release simply adds glib2 it will simply end up
lagging RedHat, Suse, and possibly Slackware. Sure the new
package/adminstration tools are an important improvement, but 1.3.6
Debian really works well enough.

The real jump ahead would be the addition of gcc2.8 and kernel2.1.89 in
addition to glib2. The performance and features gained by the addition
of the new kernel and glib should not be underestimated. The PnP
features themselves have affects which reach beyond the kernal code into
various daemons and init initalizer programs, and transitioning now will
make the future much more managable.

Since this release was to late to justify inclusion in Infomagik's
latest release this is a perfect opportunity to get the jump on the
competition, and rise to maturity with the next generation of
facilities.

Oh, and by the way I'd really like to see the newly released vim5.0
included with the new distribution as well. With support for
highlighting 75 different syntax types from Ada to Perl to Z-shell,
hypertext tags based help, and tons of other features it is the editor
to use unless you are already married to (X)Emacs.

I have personally patched Debian 1.3.6 to use most of these facilities
myself, and thus my install is somewhat out of spec but well worth it.

Sincerely,
