I just want people to be able to do this easily:
diff .bash_profile.dpkg-dist .bash_profile
BTW: /root/.bash_profile and /root/.bashrc are no longer conffiles
since base-files_1.7. And they are no longer 3 or 2 lines long.
If the current implementation (base-files_1.7) is against policy, please
tell me how (paragraph, section, etc.).
[ I hope both you and me agree that /root/.bash_profile is not a system
configuration file, but a personal configuration file of the user root.
Otherwise, I would have to make /root/.bash_profile a symlink to somewhere
in /etc, which would be a little bit strange... ].
