this sounds good. 

if this used pkg-order and had dpkg-mountable's ability to mount any
filesystem listed in /etc/fstab, then we'd only need two methods:
dpkg-http (rename it to dpkg-SAN) to handle 99.9999% of installs and the
special-case floppy method...does anyone actually use it?

btw, dpkg-SAN == dpkg-SwissArmyKnife.
