Hi, I have a system that every once in a while is hooked off the network, and must then be able to operate stand alone. How would i best switch and detect? Currently i have a hack in /etc/rc.boot that tries to ping to a known host, and if that fails executes a `init 3'. I defined runlevel 3 to have none of the networking routines (all network related S-links replaced by K-links). Is there a more elegant solution for Debian? ---david (davl@cistron.nl)
