you can add me to that list too. i suspect you could count at least 80
or 90% of developers.

freeness and the open development model is one of the things which
inspired me to become a developer....and, on a more pragmatic level,
quality. debian is an excellent demonstration of the high level of
quality which can be achieved with entirely free software.

many new developers are drawn to debian because of our stance on
free-ness and open-ness. far from being a drawback, the social contract
and dfsg are a huge drawcard for new users and developers.

it aint perfect, but this aint a perfect world.  it's a workable compromise.
