I fully agree. If this is the only bashism (read: non-POSIX), it is worth
to remove it, those constructions are often very easy to rewrite.

I have just reported this against `hello' package, since it is supposed to
be a "model" on which new packages are created.

Even if we do not "forbid" curly brackets, we could still decide to
"discourage by example" them or not by using them (or not) in the hello
package, taken as "example package".
