Well,  I basically did that,  except that I changed the name of the
package and deleted some stuff.  I wanted it to be as generic as
possible,  and make no assumptions about anything.  I guess there wouldn't
be much loss of generality if I just left some of it the same,  though.

Thanks for your input.  Please,  as I get further along,  let me know if
something's not clear,  or if you think something's likely to cause a
question I can answer beforehand.
