Adding Binary Files to a Package

In the apple2 package, I've added a disk image of a blank disk.  I want
this to go out in the built package so people have a bit more of a starting
place.  However, 'dpkg-buildpackage' tries to diff it with the non-existant
version in the original source and then dies because it's a binary file.

How do I work around this limitation?
