apache & php

When I try to recompile php, I get an apache module with the following ldd
output:

       libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x4003c000)
        libgdbm.so.1 => /usr/lib/libgdbm.so.1 (0x40055000)
        libmsql.so.1 => /usr/lib/libmsql.so.1 (0x4005b000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4006a000)
        --list => --list (0x00000000)

The module seems to be completely useless, whereas php.cgi seems to work
fine. Any ideas if this "--list" thing is the problem or where it comes
from?
