I've brough the "local/share" problem up twice before, but nobody every
said anything. Granted, it isn't directly related to the problem you're
having right now.
There are three types of "local" directories...
1) local to the machine
2) arch-dependant local to the network
3) arch-independant local to the network
And only two standard locations: local, share
We've finally given up waiting for a solution and use "local" for #1
and "share" for #2 (with #3 being merged with #2).
