It is an ideal solution, yes, but is ALOT of trouble.  dpkg needs to
be hacked up.  All packages using an epoch need to be repackaged.

Furthermore, it doesn't affect too many people.  Anybody tracking the
stable distribution has already seen the problem and dealt with it.
Furthermore, Susan has already added it to our FAQ list.

I'd just rather Klee spend his time on more important improvements to
dpkg.
