Showstoppers upgrading bo

I am just upgrading a workstation to bo running on an X-Term.

1. Perl installation fails with libdl1 not available.
Installing the new ldso manually fixed the problem.

2. Could not install xbase since it wanted to shut down the X-Session.
Is there not a way around this?

3. gpm continually tries to do something that brings it to a grinding
halt. CTRL-C makes things move along again.

4. There was a big mess with awk dependencies. I had to run Config from
dselect multiple times until most packages were configured.

5. Dselect aborted the installation without going through non-free and
contrib. It seems I have never seen that work on the first run...
