I agree. Pine keeps templates for .pinerc in /etc/pine.conf and uses this
to create a new .pinerc file if the user doesn't have one. If memory
serves, pine can also create one on the fly if it finds none in /etc. The
program in cooperation with the user should fix these things, not the
installation.
