I'd like to be able to remove `ae', but it won't deinstall. It should
be possible to remove ANY package if I really want to. I don't like
it when I'm treated like a child by the packaging system.

So, if the base packages include a depends: editor and ae provides: editor
as well as vi, joe, emacs, and others. Then, as long as some package that
provides editor is installed, ae can be removed without difficulty.
(Actually I think the above problem is aleviated by removing ESSENTIAL
from ae, but the editor provides helps maintain the existance of some
editor on the system)
