If you let adduser muck around with /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow manually
on a shadow-ized system you might run into locking problems... That's
really ugly. Password locking is different between shadow and non-shadow
systems.
adduser should be fixed to call useradd as soon as shadow is "standard".
It would make it al lot smaller too.
