Actually, shlibdeps will take care of that.
Put the following line in the binary paragraph of your debian/control file:
Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}
and then put the following line in your debian/rules file right before
dpgk-gencontrol:
dpkg-shlibdeps <the name of your binary>
