The source is available for perusal :) You can get good examples from
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mawk.postinst and nvi, elvis, and vim have examples
too. In the {x,}inetd case, /usr/sbin/inetd could be a symlink to
xinetd and std-inetd (or whatever it should be called).
