Not to mention the fact that, as I read the agreement, packaging the
alphas would be contravening it.

I definitely would've liked to have seen 3.1.2[DEFG] packaged in Debian.
My card is a W32p revision A, which only works with the 3.1.2 SVGA server;
the bug was fixed by 3.1.2D, and everything works fine now.

It surely wouldn't be difficult to package up the betas, and they could
be put into (say) contrib.
