DUH! gcc builds forever and ever
I figured out my problem... the system clock was set to 1994. Most of the
gcc source has a stamp of *at least* 1995. Hence, OF COURSE, files produced
during the make process were "older" than those in the distribution...
What'llwedo if someone ever invents a trans-[time]-dimensional filesystem?
i nominate myself for the blatant idiot of the week award.
