Bug#4756: screen doesn't work

First of all, sorry for taking so long to answer your
bug report, but I was in Moskow when you send it (on holiday).

BTW, Where did you get this pidof command from? (It's not on my system).

> $ ps -jp 8804
> PPID PID PGID SID TT TPGID UID TIME COMMAND
> 1 8804 8804 8804 ? -1 0 1.22s SCREEN dselect
> $ screen -r
> There is no screen to be resumed.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this. Does this happen to you
reproducably, or just once in a million times? Could you
tell me what triggers it?

> $ ps -jp 8804
> PPID PID PGID SID TT TPGID UID TIME COMMAND
> 1 8804 8804 8804 ? -1 0 1.22s SCREEN dselect
                          ^^^
On my system, the "TT" line always refers to a valid tty. Do you
happen to know why it doesn't in your case?

And, what are the other problems you see? In your subject line,
you say: "screen doesn't work". Does the rest of screen not work
for you too, or is it just the reconnecting that doesn't work?

Thanks for the bug report,
