Ian, Ian, Ian ... As you indicated in your post, this topic has been
discussed at great length.
I know your position on the subject backwards and forwards.
It doesn't matter!
The Pine Developers have made themselves equally clear on this subject.
They are not going to change this "feature".
My advice is that you could use your energy to more effect by teaching
everyone you contact on the subject that they should not use the
attachment feature of pine to send plain text. Control R is the "correct"
method for including plain text in an e-mail. The more users who
understand this issue, the fewer "broken" email messages you will recieve.
Unless you can show some compelling argument for leaving an unfixable bug
in the bug reporting system, I will mark this bug done (well, at least
dead).
