Bug#3214: purged package has conffiles
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.2.2elf
(I first sent this to debian-devel and not here.)
I installed fdutils-4.3-1 and getty-1.0-4 which finally replaced whatever I
had left from the now deceased miscutils package which was therefore purged.
Quite amazing actually how well the package dependency scheme works.
The only thing that worries me a little is that two conffiles still seem to
belong to miscutils even though miscutils was automagically purged
miles:~ [root] # dpkg -s miscutils
Package: miscutils
Status: purge ok not-installed
Priority: required
Section: base
Conffiles:
/etc/fdprm 7213ed72fc15d0184b428cb34df34d2d
/etc/securetty b2786c62a3aa9a21df2f3e4eb9e42ecd
and, more worrying, also belong to two other packages. The login package took
over /etc/securetty, and getty took over /etc/fdprm. So shouldn't they be
removed from the miscutils status display?
