Bug#3176: mandelspawn slave problems

Package: mandelspawn
Version: 0.07-2

Here are some problems I noticed with mandelspawn:

- enslave expects all slaves to be mentioned (with usernames) in .rhosts or
.rhostile. It would be nice if the script didn't require this, but rather
just used that information as a hint if present. It would also be nice if it
understood that missing usernames in .rhosts default to the current username.

- xms bombs if not all slaves respond. It would be nice if it would simply
carry on with the available slaves.

- If the installation procedure is going to enable mslave via inetd, it would
be nice if it would at least warn that this is happening (as this is an avenue
for others to use one's cpu time). Better yet would be to ask.

- (just fyi) The '-n' flag to enslave doesn't work. The problem seems to be
that bash ignores -n when also given -c. I'm not sure exactly what the
corrent sh behavior is, but I'll report this as a bug with bash.

Thanks,
--Mike
