disks-i386

I was watching my mirror run and noticed that there are quite a few large
files under the "disks-i386" directory. There are also quite a few with
the same apparent name.

1200_base_floppy-1 1440_base_floppy-3
1200_base_floppy-2 1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-0.gz
1200_base_floppy-3 1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-1.gz
1200_base_floppy-4 1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-2.gz
1200_boot_floppy.gz 1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-3.gz
1440_base_floppy-1 1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-4.gz
1440_base_floppy-2 1440_boot_floppy.gz

There are also subdirectories like "1996_5_21" and "Old" that have files
I'm pretty sure are redundant. I'd like to keep the latest set of base
install disks, but because I have a small pipe I can't really afford to
mirror the rest of the files.

Is there a pattern I can give to "exclude_patt" under mirror so I will
only get the install floppies? Alternatively, is there any way the file
structure of the distribution could be modified slightly to make such a
pattern possible?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they're not.
