Symbol conflict in GDB under Emacs

I get the following message when I start GDB under emacs... (The second
line is the important one.)

 Current directory is /home/bcwhite/verisim/bin/
 Name collision between minicom minicom

This does not happen if I start GDB from the command line. Any ideas?
