Bug#2691: new perl break suid scripts

I thought suidperl was being gotten rid of for some reason---I know
I've never used it in my life (and I've written a couple of suid
scripts).
Have you tried adding the -T switch (which, according to my handy
Perl5 Desktop Reference (a mere $7 from O'Reilly -- PLUG!), forces
taint checking). That might do the trick.
And, just to be sure, did you make sure to re-set the suid bit after
editing the script to refer to /usr/bin/perl rather than
/usr/bin/suidperl?
