This is a bug in the cron jobs on master, I think.  I'll check.

Hmm.  Part of the problem here is that you (no doubt) didn't go
through the base directory and so you had a somewhat-older version of
the base packages than the most recent which are available.

Could the message telling people not to download and install stuff
from the base subdirectory be changed to suggest that they don't have
to but that it may be a good idea if they can do so easily ?
