Maybe something we need to do, in addition to creating default files
and putting them somewhere, (and I may volunteer, once I have two
minutes to rub together) is create a script for inserting and removing
stuff into mailcap and mime.types, so as to allow something like xv or
a hypothetical xanim package to update the system-wide scripts.

Would the inclusion of this script imply that a totally separate
package is appropriate?
