I absolutely agree. 

But I also see what could be done *now* for little cost. We already have
quite some projects pending. How about a release for a change?  ;-)

My /etc/profile sources (after a test for existence) /usr/local/etc/profile.
Therein is an
	eval `dircolors -b /usr/local/etc/colors-ls.rc`
where the latter is a renamed version of the indeed badly named configuration
file for color-ls.
