One complication with having a common mouse config script is that gpm
and X recongnize different mouse types. And gpm does a better job
about ms vs. bare type. In fact, I haven't figured out how to get
XFree86 to treat a three-button ms mouse as a 3-button mouse (had to
resort to Emulate3Buttons). gpm has no trouble with the third mouse
button with type ms.
