Yes, I'd considered this. That code is in flux right now. The msdos driver
has been split into "fat" (low-level) and "msdos" (high-level), and there's
a new "vfat" filesystem that provides Windows 95 long file names but (as
far as I know) doesn't provide special files. Currently vfat can overflow
the kernel stack. I think it'll replace umsdos when it's debugged and if
someone hacks in special files.
