Package: syslogd Version: 1.2-11 My system goes down for backups overnight; the syslogd is one of the few services that doesn't get killed and restarted. Unfortunately, when the system comes back up the daemon isn't working at all. Killing and restarting it fixes things. I'd be grateful if the maintainer would advise me what experiments they'd like me to perform to investigate this problem. Ian.
