Bug#2412: xosview can't do -net nor -cua0

When I use the -cua0 option to monitor the modem, I see that
RTS/CTS/DSR and DCD/DTR are set. But after dialing and connecting
none of the values ever changes.
When I run to monitor the network:
$ xosview -l -network 1
I never get a window - it just hangs. Running as root has similar
effects.
