Problems with ncurses ... any ideas?
Hi,
I tried compiling gnuchess using ELF/ncurses (I'd previously been using
a.out/BSD curses). Interesting results: as far as the program was
concerned, all seemed fine - just one snag ... keyboard input wasn't
being echoed!
Unfortunately, I know very little about curses programming in general, or
BSD curses/ncurses differences in particular, so have no idea what to
try. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?
I was not able to install ncurses-term - I presume this shouldn't be a
problem (I did file a bug report on that). I'm using ncurses3.0,
ncurses3.0-dev, ncurses-base and ncurses-bin, all 1.9.8a-4 together with
gcc 2.7.2-2 and libc5 5.2.18-1.
