So it does (I have it on my system now - as you will have seen, my bug
report was very old).  I'm therefore closing this bug report.

The one in the xstd distribution doesn't seem to be showing the
problem (though my old one still does).  I assume it's some silly
library incompatibility.  Anyway, since xstd's xload works right it's
not a problem.  If I come across any other problems I'll report them.
