Bug#2068: su doesn't su.

Package: sh-utils
Version: 1.12-4

It seem's that su has broken of NIS systems for some reason.

When I was using .93R6 before going to 1.0 to develop new pacakges, I
was able to creat root accounts (ie: kroot, nroot etc) on the NIS server
machine (still currently running .93R6). Ever since I've upgraded to 1.0
on this machine I cannot su to ANY root accounts not listed in /etc/passwd,
so "root" is fine, but kroot (that exists on the other server) wont let me
in. The error is "password incorrect" I definately know that my password
input is correct, so it can't be that.

If I copy the old /bin/su from my .93 system to my 1.0 system it works
FINE. So I gather that somehow su has broken for NIS systems under 1.0.
