I'm running radeon+KMS+compiz ontop of a r6xx GPU and this works perfectly - except for WebKit applications, they scroll choppy ;) Btw. I wouldn't count on UMS anymore because a userspace application shouldn't interact with hardware direclty and therefor also requires the application to run as root. Nowadays I'd considere UMS and it's requirements as a bug. Cheers - Fuddl
